In course of time, there felt a necessity for segregating land transport/cargo from the Air and Sea Cargo and was born P.C. Chakravorty & Sons which has got a separate Custom License No. CA/LC/1/75 dated 11.3.1975 by the Collectorate of Central Excise & Customs, West Bengal for undertaking Clearing & Forwarding job exclusively by road to different Land Custom Stations along Bangladesh Border viz. a> Petrapole in North 24 Parganas District of West Bengal, b> Mahadipur in Malda district of West Bengal, c> Gojadanga in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal and d> Hilli in West Dinajpur district of West Bengal. The company is handling the import and export cargo through these four bordering place and established branch offices at these places. It is also about three decades that the company has been consistently and efficiently handling the cargos to and fro Bangladesh. Thus the company is known as a specialist in Bangladesh Export/Import cargo handler. The company was founded by Late Prafulla Chandra Chakravorty. Today, this is a partnership company. Another partner during then was Late Kalipada Chakravorty, the able son of Late Prafulla Chandra Chakravorty who vested vigorous effort for maintaining the credential of his founder father. The present partners are a> Sri Dipak Chakravorty, son of Late Prafulla Chandra Chakravorty, who is best known for his entrepreneurship and as a social & cultural activist of Bengal. He is an international personality known for his integrity; b> the second partner is the young and dynamic Asish Chakravorty , son of Sri Dipak Chakravorty who has given the company a new dimension, and the third partner is Sri Champak Chakravorty another young lad of the Chakravorty family. Because of the combined effort of these three partners, the company has gained the height of professionalism. After the demise of Prafulla Chandra Chakravorty, the Custom License was redeemed to the then partners vide No. CS/LC/1/82 dated 28.04. 1982 and further after the death of one of the partners named Swapan Chakravorty, the present License No. CA/LC/10/2000 dated 21.02.2000 has been issued.Today P.C.
